Workshop Proposals
OzCHI 2026 invites workshop proposals for full-day and half-day sessions that align with this year’s theme, ‘On the Edge’, and ongoing topics of interest to the OzCHI community. We seek to stimulate debate and shape the future of human-computer interaction (HCI), interaction design, and interactive technologies. Workshops provide a unique platform for scholars, practitioners, and researchers to converge and delve into specific topics in an engaging and collaborative environment.
We are looking for workshops that can attract a broad interdisciplinary audience, encourage participant interaction, and promote community-building within the HCI field. Remote and hybrid attendance will not be offered as part of OzCHI 2026.
Preparing and Submitting Your Workshop Proposal
Step 1: Download the ACM Master Template
- LaTeX users download the template here or use the Overleaf template.
- Word users download the template here.
- Please ensure that you use the correct template. The single-column format must be used for the reviewing phase. Using different templates or formats may result in desk rejection.
Step 2: Write your proposal
- Develop a workshop abstract of up to 4,000 words plus references;
- Provide a strong rationale for the workshop, describe the issues to be addressed, and state concrete objectives;
- Detail the organiser's background and relevance to the workshop topic. The first author will be the primary contact person;
- Describe your plans to publish the content participants submitted. We encourage organisers to publish a collection of the submitted papers as workshop proceedings, for example, via https://ceur-ws.org;
- Authors should acknowledge the use of generative AI in the creation of their content, including the AI tools used and the extent of their contribution to the research, writing, or design process.
Step 3: Submit a supplementary document including
- Whether the workshop is a half or full-day;
- Proposed timetable;
- Organiser bios;
- A URL for the workshop website (does not need to be active at submission);
- A 100-word blurb for the OzCHI website;
- A description of required support (e.g., a room with whiteboards, pens, and tables for group discussion). Please note that requests for support that cannot be accommodated will be returned to authors for discussion.
