Abstract:
Research in the area of smart healthcare and wellness systems has reached a point where significant improvements are only possible if academics and practitioners from various disciplines collaborate in order to develop new strategies for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing new applications. Therefore, this workshop aims to bring together researchers and industry practitioners from different fields to share their research positions and practical experiences and discuss new ideas, innovative approaches and challenging research questions, which have the potential to motivate future research activities within the field of smart healthcare systems
Interested researchers are invited to submit a position paper (2-4 pages) until September 30, 2013. Papers should focus on current research activities and/or interesting aspects of future work. Industry practitioners are invited to submit a case study paper (1-2 pages) reporting on practical aspects of smart healthcare solutions. Authors of accepted position papers will be notified until October 15, 2013. Accepted workshop papers will be included in the digital conference proceedings. For more information please see the workshop website.

Call for Papers & Abstract:
As technologies continue to advance, the data we need to deal with is getting increasingly large and complex. At the same time, new media and innovative devices that are used to process data and present the information are becoming increasingly ubiquitous and have been used as part of our daily activities. The objective of this workshop is to promote research on emerging technologies and big data in collaborative environments, and to provide an open and constructive discussion forum for workshop participants to review the state-of-the-art, discuss current issues and future research directions, build the community, form network relations across isolated fields of research and foster possible future collaboration.
The workshop welcomes all submissions that concern any aspect of emerging technologies and big data in collaborative environments. Interested researchers and practitioners are invited to submit a position or research paper (no longer than 4 pages) by October 30, 2013. For more information, please see the workshop website.
